Sunflower at midnight

My first "hand-pulled-hot-off-the-press" etching of the spring season. And I'm thinking, "Gee, it's not deep, dark and depressing." Has something changed? Do I by chance detect a hint of Van Gogh? : )

Life, death, rebirth. A seed cracks open. Tiny roots embrace the cool depths of the earth.
Like the phoenix, they rise from their ashes.
I absolutely love this time of year...
